SAD SAD NEWS...early Thursday Feb 9th, 2012 Steve "Sarge" Stransky peacefully passed away after a +3 yr battle with brain cancer. If you consider he was given only 2 yrs, this was a WIN! He was in the company of Family and close Friends. It was the most joyous send-off I've ever seen with music-galore--mostly Beatles' songs. :*)  There were many tears and a TON of laughter for this amazing man with great musical talents, repair skills and a great love for people! I will miss you so much, Buddy.

Rest in Peace, my dear dear dear Friend. ~chadd

If you wish to schedule a rebuild, or purchase one of our saxes (and it still needs to be rebuilt),  send us  a 50% deposit to hold your place in the work schedule.  We work from a published schedule (see left margin) so that your sax will only be out of your possession a couple weeks, while i do the actual work, it does not have to just sit on the shop floor, until its turn comes up... you send it to arrive on schedule and we return it on schedule.

Keilwerth made The New King and Tone King  as their main brand names, from 1932 to 1969 or so, but there were always stencils, like Edgeware and later Couf.  Here are few of the other names you may find on Keilwerth made horns.  The New King and Tone King saxes were identical except for a high F# key on the tone king model, but keilwerth marketed the Tone King as the "deluxe" Pro model and the New King as the "standard" Pro model

"Dueling Saxophones" Metal Art (custom orders available): We are selling these exclusively for a local metal-fabrication shop. Need something cool for the music studio or garage?

     Cut from 16 gauge steel (3/32" thick) with a plasma cutter, they span about 18" x 20". To add to the original design, musical notes were welded on and some color was given to the steel.  All 'burns' are purposeful artistic components--white or black notes, shadowing...etc. This piece comes complete with a backside picture hanger and has supports so that it sits approximately one inch off of the wall .  The front face comes with a clear protective coat to prevent rusting over time. As with any metal art it may contain pointed and or sharp edges, please display with care.

Vintage Conn Bb Clarinet (HP?): High Pitch? with gold plated keywork. Ser # dates it to 1905-1915. Length is 22.25" without mouthpiece. It is made of an Ebonite compound (hard rubber) and it is the old-style keywork--not modern style. See pics; wrap around octave key, vintage rollers! sweet. It's a cool clarinet, but the practical use is beyond me.  However, comes with plastic barrel that have expandable properties. Also has name engraved on Bell: "Grace Butler". Comes "as is", old and smelly, no case, will need complete overhaul. make a lamp?  SOLD

Peter Ponzol Tenor Neck (as is): Designed initially for Selmer and Yamaha. This one is Near New condition.  They have the New list price at 495.00 but they post discounted at 395.00 so this will be for sale at: 300.00

 Julius Keilwerth Tenor Neck (as is): Lucky are you? here's a hard to find JK neck. Most likely a neck from a Superba 1 or 2, it is gold Lacquer and stamped with serial #90,650 dates it to the early 80s and has the "JK" logo on the front spade--we have proof that later Superba 1's had that too... Sarge says it plays really nicely because he had it paired as an extra neck with his "Blackie" Superba 1. 400.00

Conn Wonder II "Chu" alto Neck (as is): Silver plated neck, heavy tarnish (polished one side) came off a damaged #202K era.  neck micro-tuner moves well, missing lock screw, and all could use oiled, corked and cleaned up.  199.00
