Click the links above  to see what's in stock.   If  a horns says "just rebuilt", then it's ready to go, saxes that say "scheduled for a rebuild" are waiting for the work to be done, but it will be included in the posted price.  If a sax says "ON TRIAL" someone is taking advantage of our "Three Day Trial" policy (See Info and Orders page).

Here is a pic of some custom resonator work.  We can size the reso to your tonehole, or whatever you like.

Hey players!  I've just learned that several new Saxgourmet Alto, Tenor and Bari  saxophone models (not mouthpieces, horns) are coming out soon, so I'm going to make a clearance sale on my remaining inventory, at least 20% off MAP, for whatever i have left.  E-mail me!

Brand New!

"Steve Goodson's new series of mouthpieces for tenor saxophone...  If you liked the 1960's SOLID BRASS Dukoffs and Duckbill Berg Larsen's you're gonna love this one.  Hand faced and dead accurate, with a high baffle, and no blowing resistance.  a variety of tip openings are available, .095/.105/.115.  single screw ligature included."

Every one of these mouthpieces are Hand Faced.

As you can see,  there is a Berg influence to the shape of the beak, for a more comfortable bite than a Dukoff  and a Dukoff style baffle to beef up the sound.  The solid brass will give it the massive weight and similar sound, to the 1960's solid brass Dukoff Super Power Chamber (worth about 850.00 in today's market and very rare).   Fortunately, technology gives us a "CNC" (Computer Numerical Control) price, of  99.00, plus 8.65 shipping.  3 day trial is absolutely OK.

These are raw brass.  Nothing has to be done to them, unless you don't like to play on a tarnished raw brass mouthpiece.  However, i have the best brush plating system available and can silver or silver/gold plate your mouthpiece.  Raw brass tarnishes fast, overnight... silver tarnishes slowly-shine monthly, gold tarnishes very, very slowly-shine semi-yearly.  Pricing is listed at the bottom of my rebuild info page.  I would suggest that you try the mouthpiece before you decide to have it plated, i can not refund plating after a mouthpiece trial.

Hey, Mouthpiece Nuts:  We have sold a ton of the Saxgourmet mouthpieces and so far everyone has liked them.  Comments are, "Best I've played for the price", "That's a keeper" and "Sold, how soon can you plate it for me?".  I'm going to try doing something new, I will send a very limited supply of these to Bob Carpenter, to Reface to some different sizes, like 100" and 110" , when they are back, i will plate them and offer them for what it costs for a premium facing and plating, 199.00 in Silver,  249.00 in Gold.

This can only last until Steve Goodson's "introductory offer" price holds at 99.00.  I'm probably crazy to spend this much time on these, i'm not even making my hourly wage doing it, but i think they play as well as mouthpieces selling for 650.00 and would like to see some players get a break for as long as it lasts.

Here's a couple pics of the first Saxgourmet tenor pieces, that i plated in silver:

I've just purchased a cool horn, to fix up and sell.  It's a Martin Magna Tenor.   I just finished removing some dents and dings it ready to go now...  magna 210 001.jpg (466646 bytes)  see my tenors page.

I've also recently picked up a 1955 MK VI Alto 57k mk vi alto 002.jpg (714074 bytes) (and the mk vi is on hold already)

and a "Full Pearls" King Super 20 Alto super20alto305.jpg (435025 bytes)   this great alto is our featured alto on the alto page and will get it's rebuild in a few weeks.  still available, so far.

I just got a classic 1941 Silver King Zephyr too: zephyr 257 004.jpg (240126 bytes) check at tenors page.

And, I just got four c-melodies, including a c-soprano.

Big Excitement! Worldwidesax.com is now a dealer for Saxgourmet and Steve Goodson Model horns.  We have just added a new page, to display what is in stock and what is on the way.

If you have not heard about Steve's newest models, check them out.  It is my personal "gigged it and loved it" feeling that no other modern horn compares to them.

saxgourmet saxello 003.jpg (211635 bytes)  I sold the first Saxgourmet Saxello i received  right away and have ordered another.  These are really hard to get and i'm pleased to have another coming.  You really should try one of these puppies out!

Now  in stock.

One of the most common questions i get asked is, "How do i get to reserve a spot in your work schedule, or how long until a WWS stock horn gets rebuilt?  The best plan i have been able to devise, is a Deposit System.   Work, on almost anything, gets scheduled right away when i receive a deposit for the work (or sax) you have interest in.  Email me and ask about what interests you, then we can discuss my next schedule opening, see if it works for you... and how to get me the deposit that makes the wheels roll.

enjoy,

sarge

I have been lucky to make many friends and am blessed with more business than one man can handle...  because of that, i always have a long waiting list, so i have come up with a system that works.  i have a work queue... people who want work done send me a 50% deposit to have their work added to the queue.  Then when their turn comes up, they ship the horn to arrive a couple days before work is scheduled to start.  the queue is posted on the left margin of my website pages and is updated weekly.  Doing it this way, your sax only has to be out of your possession a couple weeks.

My "Work Schedule"  consists of one rebuild every 10 days and some of those will be WWS horns that are going to customers.  So, i'm not real speedy and i really don't want to have other people do my work for me, or enlarge the shop and have different workers doing different levels of work.   Beside from doing the restoration work, there is the time consumed by "running the business"  and answering the phone, that never stops ringing, so i hope my system can keep my customers  happy.

I will always be just as available as i have been for the last ten years and always happy to help, with the best customer service i can muster...   If you are patient and like my style, then by all means let me do my best, for you.

    thanks,  sarge

I just added 5 new mouthpieces at our vintage mouthpiece page, check them out!

Yep, i just created a new website, this time it's for my original music and for my Rockin' blues band.

Looking for our Rebuild and Restoration Info? (click here)

We are open for business  T W T F S, 10-4:00 pst.   Sunday & Monday's off

Welcome to our online presence.  This is our ninth Year online. We are a SAX ONLY repair shop, who restores and sells what we buy, to the public... and we also do custom rebuilds and restorations for customers, from all over the world.   Sometimes you see the term "dealer" associated with retail shops, but a typical "dealer" does not repair horns, just buys and sells "as is".  They may have started out as an antique store, or pawn/loan broker and found the mark up in finding and selling "as is", to their liking. Some dealers have a local shop, do tunes-ups, or student quality rebuilds for them  and then marks 'em up and sells 'em.  We try to do more then just mark up and profit, we make them better.  We are not a big corporation, rather a proprietor owned and operated "shop", run in an old fashioned personal and up close manner.

If you wish to schedule a rebuild, or purchase one of our saxes (and it still needs to be rebuilt),  send us  a 50% deposit to hold your place in my work schedule.  I work from a published schedule (see left margin) so that your sax will only be out of your possession a couple weeks, while i do the actual work, it does not have to just sit on the shop floor, until it's turn comes up... you send it to arrive on schedule and we return it on schedule.

If your are looking for that Beautifully restored Conn "Chu" Bass Sax, or others of our past works, click here

By popular demand, i have created a page for my personal horn collection, the link is called  "Sarges Horn Collection" .  It will have pics and descriptions of some of the horns i have collected over the years, still own and play.  Check it out:  I just added a couple sound files to this page...

PHANSGT.JPG (174476 bytes)  Let's have some fun with pictures.  This time if you click on my pic, you will see a pic of me in the early 80's (with my pop group "Tight Shoes") , sporting the look that spawned the "sarge:" nickname.    Thanks,  Steve, a.k.a. "Sarge".  Ok, i get hundreds of emails, asking "Why Sarge?"... although I was in the service, my Sarge nickname came years later, (when I was in one of my favorite road bands) from my very good friend Hugo Taylor.  He tagged me with it and it has stuck for some 23 years.

worldwidesax is  your resource for Vintage Saxophones and Mouthpieces on the world wide web.  We are vintage saxophone specialists and have a lot of experience with all makes and models of vintage horns.  Not many shops can boast rebuilding or restoring about 100 Vintage horns every year... we can.  Our goal is to bring you the widest possible selection, display as many as we can with accurate, quality pictures and descriptions and guarantee what we sell, to be as we describe it or your money back.  I created Worldwidesax to
